Westico Visibility Platform is a universal software platform, which together with the hardware components Westico Visibility System provides assets and people tracking in real time using Westico tags operating in the WiFi network, passive RFID tags or GPS devices. This platform also supports data collection from sensors, which are fitted into tags and thus it enables easy and cheap creation of extensive wireless sensors networks for real-time data collection on temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, radiation and other telemetry data. All data are presented on maps, which uniquely combine the detailed internal view of the map with Google Maps.
Westico Visibility Platform includes Westico Visibility Server and Westico Visibility Viewer.
Westico Sensor Server is a component of the Westico Visibility Server responsible for the data collection from tags and sensors, calculation of tracked tags position and data storage in a database. It also ensures the management of defined events and through Westico Sensor API data interface provides data to applications.

The system allows defining events to which the system will response by defined manner.
Examples of monitored events:
tag in / outside the defined area
activation / value of the sensor (eg. increase or decrease in temperature above/bellow a set limit; attempted forced removal of the tag from the object; tag has not moved during a defined value, impact of defined intensity)
Relations of two or more tags. Two tags will get far apart or closer to the defined distance, the number of tags in a given area reaches a given value

Westico Map Server manages and provides internal maps, on which the reference objects are displayed through a web application Westico Visibility Viewer. In cooperation with the Viewer the Map Server provides comfortable work with maps that respects the usual rules and conventions. Westico Map Server works with geographic coordinates and thus the internal maps are embedded into a real geographical location.
Web application Westico Visibility Viewer is a user interface that provides and displays the data that were received and processed by Westico Sensor Server. Basic functionality of Westico Visibility System is to provide data on current or historical position of the search object. Therefore the system has a very simple Google-like user interface, which corresponds to the basic functionality: searching. Just to enter a name of searched object, also incomplete, and the result of a query will be shown on the list. By next click you will reach your searched object, displayed on a detailed map.
Found objects are displayed on the map background. Westico Visibility Platform uses a unique combination of internal and external maps. On the background of external Google Maps can be traced objects to arbitrarily large geographical area, on the basis of internal maps can be viewed objects in the highest resolution up to the rooms and equipment inside. Application user interface is very intuitive, and it uses the usual convention when working with any other maps. For any work with Westico Visibility System, and also for its configuration, a user needs only a web browser.
Configuration and administration tools for the management of the system and tools for the maps configuration are part of the Viewer.

The basic function of the system is to provide information about the current tag position. Google-like search and user interface of client map application is therefore simplified to the maximum level and control respects the experience and the usual convention. Just to enter a name of searched object, also incomplete, and the result of the query will be shown on the list. By next click you will reach your searched objective, displayed on a detailed map.
Westico Visibility Platform uses unique combination of internal and external maps. On the background of external Google Maps it is possible to track objects on any geographically vast territory, on the basis of internal map objects can be traced in the highest resolution up to the rooms and equipment inside.
Westico Visibility System works internally with geographical coordinates. This makes it possible to put internal maps to real geographical location and follow the tags over arbitrarily large geographical area. Also under Westico Visibility System it allows to display any objects from which Westico Sensor Server is able to obtain geographical coordinates, such as on-board GPS units in cars.
The system allows that on the customer side there can be only a wireless WiFi network installed and Westico Sensor Server can be installed on a remote server. User authorization and attribute of the owner defined for each tag ensure that each user sees only own data, tags on own maps. This concept allows operating RTLS as a service.
Westico Visibility Platform has advanced features for the protection of privacy and data security. The system of user authorization allows defining the role of users and assigning them permissions to access the required data. When using RTLS for positioning of people it is possible to define the private zones in the maps. If the person is located in this zone, the system will only provide this information. The system will not list a specific place and tag will not be displayed on the map.
Tags can communicate with Westico Sensor Server via the Internet. Also users access the Westico Visibility Platform through web applications. This concept allows flexible installation, when the tracked objects, Westico Visibility Server, and users are at geographically different locations and to access the application users need only a web browser.
The possibilities of collecting and evaluating data from wireless sensor networks significantly extend the functionality of RTLS. Sensors provide huge added value almost for free.
Database, platform and hardware independence creates non barrier conditions for system integration into any of third party applications. The Westico Sensor API interface, meeting the requirements of standard ISO 24730-1, provides all the necessary data to these applications in real-time.
Westico Visibility Platform is built on J2EE technology. The software is platform independent and can be installed into the Windows, Unix or Linux server environment. It is supported by a number of database servers like Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, MySQL, Sybase, PostgreSQL. From the use of J2EE technology results many advantages such as scalability and high system availability, reliability, security.
